      SABRE 4000

HAND-HELD TRACE DETECTOR FOR EXPLOSIVES, CHEMICAL AGENTS, TOXIC INDUSTRIAL CHEMICALS OR NARCOTICS

      Feature Highlights

      • Lightest trace detector available
      • Analyze either particle or vapor samples
      • Weighs 7 lbs. with the standard 4-hour battery
      • 3.5” color TFT display
      Options
      • Protective cover with shoulder strap
For those who work tirelessly to protect the public, everyday presents a new challenge.  What will you be faced with today?  Strange odors? Suspicious packages? Drugs?

You need to have an instrument by your side that can detect the widest range of substances.

The SABRE 4000 is the only portable trace detector that can detect threats from explosives, chemical warfare agents, toxic industrial chemicals or narcotics, and can do so in approximately 20 seconds.  With a cold time start of 10 minutes and weighing approximately 7 lbs. including the 4-hour battery, the SABRE 4000 is a small, powerful ally in the war on terror and drug trafficking.

With the added TIC detection capability, new features such as the 3.5” color TFT display and standard 4-hour battery, the SABRE 4000 is still the smallest, lightest hand-held trace detector available.  It is also the only one that can detect and identify all the threats you face.

Trace Detection
A detection using the SABRE 4000 means that traces of a target substance have been found on the item sampled.  This in turn means that the item or its handler has been in contact with the identified substance and appropriate actions need to be taken.

Sample Collection
Proper sample collection is key to the success of any trace detector.  The versatile SABRE 4000 is capable of analyzing either trace particle or vapor samples, allowing the operator to apply the ideal sampling technique for the substance suspected.

For example, most explosive and narcotic substance do not have a strong vapor presence and in the real world are very difficult to detect by vapor.  Therefore, the most reliable collection and analyis method for those substances is particle collection.  The nature of CW Agents and Toxic Industrial Chemicals make vapor sampling more appropriate for these substances.

The SABRE 4000’s ability to analyze either trace particle or vapor samples lets the operator decide which sample collection method will yield the most accurate analysis results.

      IONSCAN 500DT

Simultaneous Explosives and Narcotics Trace Detector

      Feature Highlights

      • Simultaneous detection of explosives and narcotics
      • Over 40 substances detected and identified in 8 seconds
      • Large touch-screen color display
      • Internal data storage
      Options
      • Transportation case
The IONSCAN 500DT fills the growing need of security professionals to have the ability to detect a wide range of substances and to be able to adapt as threats and their needs change. By incorporating two IMS detectors in a single unit, the IONSCAN 500DT is capable of detecting and identifying explosives and narcotics during a single analysis, giving you the ability to detect a broader range of substances while maintaining the high sensitivity and specificity you expect from Smiths Detection.

The IMS detectors in the IONSCAN 500DT are the same as in the IONSCAN 400B, of which over 6000 are in use by aviation security, government and law enforcement agencies, the military and by private security companies.

This dual detector system is ideal for any security application.  Aviation security personnel and the military will benefit from the capability to detect a much broader range of explosive substances.  Customs, coast guard and border crossing agencies that require the ability to detect both narcotics and explosives from a single sample will be able to execute their duties utilizing one instrument.  Facility security professionals will be aided in better protecting access points to commercial buildings, courthouses and correctional facilities, with the ability to detect multiple threats with one instrument.

Evolution of the IONSCAN
Building on the success and trusted technology of the IONSCAN family of trace detectors, the IONSCAN 500DT has an ergonomic design and a large, color touch-screen display, built-in printer and 40GB internal hard drive.  Further advancements include full PC functionality, increased memory and networking capabilities.

The IMS detectors in the IONSCAN 500DT are the same as in the IONSCAN 400B, of which over 6000 are in use by aviation security, government and law enforcement agencies, the military and by private security companies.

Sample Collection System
An advanced sampling wand eliminates the need for the operator to handle the sample swab after every sample.  This increases the quality of the sample collected and analyzed.

Simplified Maintenance
The IONSCAN 500DT includes a regenerative Air Purification System (APS), which reduces maintenance and cost of ownership.  In addition, most operator replaceable parts do not require the use of tools in the field.

Software
The IONSCAN 500DT utilizes specially developed proprietary software.  The operator navigates through the software using the large, color touch-screen display.  The large size and color-coded interface of the display makes it easy to view results and operate the IONSCAN 500DT.

With the increased internal memory, more analysis results can be stored.  These results can be printed with the built-in printer and exported via the USB port.  The software also allows advanced operators the capacity to further review and analyze results.
